WHAT IS CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19)?
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by coronavirus that was first identified in China. The main symptoms of coronavirus are similar to those of a bad cold or flu; making detection difficult. Symptoms include: fever, cough and shortness of breath.
HOW IS COVID-19 TRANSMITTED?
The COVID-19 virus is airborne and spreads through coughing and sneezing.
HOW DO I PROTECT MYSELF & MY FAMILY?
Wash your hands with antibacterial soap and, when soap isn’t available, use hand sanitizer as often as possible. Maintain social distance, 6 feet or more is recommended. Stay at home if you begin to feel ill; even with mild symptoms, until you recover.
HOW IS COVID-19 TREATED?
There is currently no antiviral treatment for COVID-19. People infected should immediately seek medical attention for treatment for symptoms.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I THINK I HAVE COVID-19?
Seek medical care. You should call ahead before you go to a doctor’s office or an emergency room. Coronavirus symptoms closely resemble those of other ailments, you can easily avoid exposure to other illnesses potentially worsening your condition by making a phone call first.
IS COVID-19 COVERED UNDER MY PLAN?
Testing for COVID-19 is covered under your medical plan per the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. The coverage mandate does not require health plans to cover the treatment at no cost.
CAN I OBTAIN AN EARLY RX REFILL?
Current conditions do not call for pharmacies to enact early refills, however most pharmacies are. Call the pharmacy number on the back of your ID card for pharmacy specific information.
