In a world that’s constantly changing, one truth remains constant: Children are the architects of our future. As pillars of hope and beacons of promise, the health and wellness of our youngest generation is vital. Safeguarding the physical, mental, and emotional health of our most vulnerable empowers them to blossom into resilient, compassionate, and thriving adults.
According to the Children’s Health Fund, there are 27.5 million children in the U.S. who need regular medical attention, while 37% of all U.S. children have at least one health condition that requires routine monitoring. Today BRMS is delving into these and more key statistics related to children’s health and wellness while exploring the impact that nurturing children’s health has for setting the foundation for a brighter tomorrow:
BRMS recommends:
- Trading an afternoon of gaming or streaming for an afternoon at the park or the zoo
- Establishing a daily routine for physical activity to help your kids form a strong habit
- Spending an afternoon at the pool! Swimming is a great, fun way for kids to stay active in the summer sun
BRMS recommends:
- Asking your child about bad feelings they’re having
- Talking to your child’s healthcare professional if you have concerns about their mental health and wellness
- Encouraging open and honest communication daily
BRMS recommends:
- Ensuring your child to brushes their teeth twice per day with fluoride toothpaste
- Limiting their intake of sugary foods and drinks, which can rapidly rot their teeth
- Regularly seeing the dentist (at least 2x per year for cleanings)
As parents, caregivers, educators, and members of society, it is our collective responsibility to create an environment that cherishes and fosters the health and growth of children, ensuring that they develop into confident, compassionate, and resilient adults. By nurturing the health and wellness of our children today, we sow the seeds for a world that will thrive in the years to come.
