The BRMS Story

1993

Founded with a focus to serve our clients by offering technology-driven third party administrator services.

2002

BRMS developed and released Vbas (now known as MyHealthBenefits), one of the first employee benefit administration technology solutions.

2008

BRMS opened an office in Honolulu, Hawaii launching BRMS into the Union and Taft-Hartley markets.

2012

BRMS launches MyHealthBenefits Mobile, allowing members to access their benefit information via mobile device.

2013

BRMS starts First Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Proceeds of the tournament benefit a local child in need.

2018

BRMS proudly celebrates 25 years in business and remains dedicated to being a leading Third Party Administrator.

Matthew is the Founder of Benefit & Risk Management Services (BRMS) and is the Chief Executive Officer. He has over 35 years of experience administering employee benefit plans.

Luke Schafer

Executive Vice President

Luke started at BRMS over 18 years ago. His key focus is driving the growth of the company through business development.

Paul Schafer

Executive Vice President

Paul joined BRMS over 18 years ago and is responsible for sustaining continued sales growth nationwide through strategic business partnerships, broker channels and existing clientele.

Vanessa Pahlberg

VP of Finance & Operations

Vanessa has been with BRMS for the past 15 years and is Vice President of Finance & Operations. She is responsible for leading BRMS financial functions and future financial strategies.

DeAnn Prefling

VP of Client Administration

DeAnn started at BRMS in 2003 and is the Vice President of Client Administration. Her 20+ years of experience in medical and health claims processing is the backbone behind our superb customer support team.

William Hardison

Director of Information Technology

Bill has been with BRMS since 2007 and is the Director of Information Technology. He has more than 30 years experience in the IT industry including 15 years of independent consulting/contracting work.

Stacie Lautrup

VP of Human Resources

Stacie has been with BRMS since 2008 and is the Vice President of Human Resources. She has 25+ years’ experience in the HR field and is responsible for maximizing productivity by optimizing the effectiveness of our employees.
